Regents Place Sub Station
The last phase at Regents place was the replacement of the external wall of the substation building. The substation stands prominently in between One Trion Square and 7 Triton Street and went without notice but with a replacement of the metal panels with a large living wall accented with many led strips it has certainly changed that round. Now the substation is a focal point of the public realm and stands out into the night.
This project involved a detail analysis of the structure so we could design an intricate containment system that allowed for sections of the wall to be removed, and the transformers within to be maintained and if necessary replaced without having to remove any cabling or lighting. Although this goes unnoticed to the general public, it is a vital part of the substation’s maintenance programme.
